Which relationships in your lifetime have most influenced you? When I was 14 years old I found a friend and soul mate. The relationship we formed was he longest of my life. It’s broken bond the most painful.

This collection speaks of our history, where it triumphed and where it failed. Its joy and strengths are shown through botanicals and blooms; its pain and strife are painted with eyes, tears, trees and growth. Many of the paintings have soul-wrenching, personal letters written into their layers.

I’ve created ceramics that mirror the 2d art: whimsical items that were formed and fired according to the phases of the moon. Additional layers of bone, leaf and sparkle are embedded in resin. 

I believe all relationships are like these mixed media pieces: fraught with hardship and laughter,  filled with passion, and intrinsic to the development of who we are.
