My Favourite Monster, 2025

My Favourite Monster

This art - this gathering of characters - began as stories from my past; fragments of memory, emotion, and imagination that took shape in clay. Each one holds a small truth about me: a dream I once had, a fear I carried, a piece of resilience I didn’t yet recognize. Together they form a crowd of companions, each imperfect, tender, and loud in their own way. Through making these creatures, I’ve learned to meet them with curiosity and care. A monster can be both frightening and funny, broken and joyful, clumsy and wise. In the studio, they remind me that healing isn’t about becoming polished or perfect. It’s about letting all the awkward, glittering, impossible parts coexist.

These monsters, gathered together, are not here to scare. They’re simply here to be seen.
