The Greatest Show on earth

I am someone who was bullied for being ‘a freak’ in highschool. I am unusual and considered atypical because of my size, frankness, failure to conform, and disability. I have always found solace in the timeless allure of circuses and their sideshow spectacles. For me, the unapologetic performance of the carnival embodies a truth absent in the mundane routines of daily existence.

This show pays homage to the circus’s essence. My characters dwell on the fringes of societal norms and others perform traditional gender roles: femininity revealed in dress and dance, masculinity personified by moustaches and cannons.

Each ceramic creation assumes a unique, functional form. From the whimsical elephant-shaped teapots to fortune-telling piggy banks, no two pieces are alike. The vibrant hues and abstract shapes of the paintings burst like fireworks for the eyes. Meanwhile, the smaller paintings, rendered in acrylics, gold leaf, glitter, and resin, transport you to a dreamlike and whimsical realm.

This show is a three-ring circus, where the language of animals mingles with the dance of dolls atop tightropes. And as you gaze heavenward, all you’ll find are stars, inviting you into a world where the extraordinary reigns supreme.
